I received a call from a customer in South Woodford E18 who had damaged a rear tyre which needed to be replaced, i asked the customer for the tyre size and reminded them of the different sizes front and rear.The customer gave me the sizes of 195/50/15, but when we arrived at the car, the correct size was 175/55/15, the customer had checked the size online which is not always an accurate way to check, its always best to check the tyre itself to ascertain the correct size, luckily we had the correct size on our van.Our customer had hit the kerb and then continued driving so the tyre was completely shredded.

We jacked up the car and removed the wheel, after taking of the tyre we checked the rim for any damage as the customer had been driving on a flat tyre so its always best to check rim in case of any damage, in this case everything was ok. We replaced the valve and then mounted the new tyre to the rim, after checking the balance we fitted the wheel back onto the car & tightened the wheel nuts with a torque wrench.In our experience motorists are not checking their tyre pressures as diligently as they should, so we always do and make sure they are inflated to the correct pressures, its one of the easiest things to do to prolong the life of your tyres, so please check your tyre pressures at least once a month.
